KeeperOfThePizza
I'm noticing some lag issues in Windows 7 when playing Avi files and even HD playback.. Which is forcing me to use Vista... I could use Videolan but I prefer Windows Media Player..
+KibosJ Subscriber² Posted April 5, 2009 Subscriber² Share Posted April 5, 2009 I noticed this today and forgot that I had changed a setting in the nVIDIA control panel to sharpen my videos. Turned that down to 20% and it works great again. I also noticed that the K--Lite Codec Pack has been causing me a lot of problems in 7. Very annoying :( I swithced to CCCP and all is working great again :)
Preppy Veteran Posted April 6, 2009 Veteran Share Posted April 6, 2009 What benefit did you feel you were getting by installing https://www.neowin.net/forum/index.php?act=announce&f=12&id=11? What particular AVI was causing this problem? It 'd be interesting to see if it happened for other people too.
+KibosJ Subscriber² Posted April 6, 2009 Subscriber² Share Posted April 6, 2009 It wasn't any particular AVI really. My problem was fixed by turning down options in nvidia control panel. I have noticed that if I open a new AVI just after one has stopped playing Media player crashes and I have to close it. In older builds, not seen this again thankfully, some AVI files would stop playing half way through and I was then told that it cannot find the file :/ HD files lagging and being annoying has been fixed by removing K--Lite.
