Rambus in trouble in the courts

Recommended Posts

It seem that Rambus has finally hit the courts over its attempt to make rdram the motherboad standard over Jedec's sdram.

The FTC has taken up an anti trust case, attempting to show that Rambus attempted to change it patents, to cover 1990 patents from jetec to secure sdram for certain technologies.

Subsequently both companies are pointing the finger at each other.

Rambus attorney Gregory Stone said

"We're here because Rambus wants fair compensation for (its) inventions,"

"We are here because Rambus simply refused to play by the rules," said FTC Deputy Competition Director Sean Royall. "Rambus seeks to cling to a potential fortune in royalties that it acquired not through competition, but through deception."
