MS Movie Maker 2.0 in 2003 server ?

Recommended Posts

Is there a way to make Microsoft Movie Maker 2.0 work under Windows 2003 Server ? If I try to install it it tells me that this application only runs on WinXP. I've tried to set compatibility mode to WinXP, but nothing....

Please help... :(

You're going to have to put that as your sig soon. ;)

I wish this forum, was about using a the Server Software, for its FEATURES!

Its turned into "I Want NT 5.2 and then gimme the XP Crapola"

comeon!

I wish there were more questions about. "Active Directory" and "Windows Media 9 Services" and "Domain Security Policy"

I mean REAL Windows Server Issues! Not this "How do i install Movie Maker" Pooh...

Sorry....

I was able to get Movie Maker 1.1 work on 2003Server. I did a search on everything that has to do with MovieMk , copied it (5 or 6 files) over to my 2003 server, right clicked on moviemk.inf and hit INSTALL , and voila. I got an error about sample.asf and moviemk.chm , i hit cancel and it went through. Now i can enjoy copying all my cassettes directly into wma format ( a feature M$ chose to remove from the feeeee Movie Maker to add to the $20 Digital media plus)

May be you can try this first and then upgrade to 2.0 afterwards.

i hope this helps

Hey Stain, give it a rest , this is supposed to be a FREEEEEE forum dude.. let people ask their qs freely without any harassments or "stupid comments" .. If you are not pleased with the Qs in this forum, I suggest you find yourself another one with smarter people than you. Until then, if you can't help someone with their Q, then spare's all your No-Less-Than-dumb comments (some bandwidth too) and STFU.

Going back to the MovieMaker question, another suggestion of mine, would be to do a search in your registry on ProductID and switch the OS to WindowsXP Professional .. I bet this would help.

Good Luck to you ISDN
