Guest GraphiteCube
Hello. I am interested in putting OpenBSD on my home server and read some information about the OS. For hardware part, I am very excited that OpenBSD supports my VIA RAID card; for the software part, most of the software I use in Linux exists on OpenBSD official ports & packages too, except Java. I just wonder, if Java can be installed on OpenBSD, or BSD-derivatives (except Solaris and OS X)? I can't find out the Java package in OpenBSD ports and packages page, and some articles on Internet stated that I need to compile the whole Java package myself. Thanks in advance! Thanks for your quick reply. It shocked me that I will need to install X if I plan to install JRE (and JDK will be installed as well)... I searched again and I found these two webpages: http://i-proving.ca/space/Diana+Clarke/blog/2006-04-23_2 http://www.softwareinreview.com/bsd_tutori...penbsd_4.2.html
