Domain name in windows 2003 Server

is there a any way to put/choose Domain name in win xp or windows 2003 Server instead of IP

example:

http:// mypc ( instead of IP)

http://windows ( instead of IP)

if so, pls advice how??

You have to set up your Domain Controller, and Register a Domain Name

Do you mean domain name or machine name? your example shows machine name... You should just be able to use http://machinename to pull up a web page on another machine (provided it's running IIS) on your LAN. You can also use http://yourmachinename or http://localhost if your web server is on the same machine your working on.
