I'm interested to see what Sony makes of this! Sorry to troll, but I don't know how on earth they will top Xbox's Natal project.. if they do, than good on them, I am hoping for some creativity and new stuff from Sony.

They've got a good software lineup to show of playable/in-game titles, there shouldn't be any CGI at all during this Sony conference. Even MAG will be in-game this year.

Even with some stellar software displays they're going to need some shock value to pull off the wow factor some of the MS announcements made.

However lets not turn this into a 10 page debate of how they'll suck before we even see the conference, we can do that after if none of you are satisfied :p

^ That could be a killer announcement

Not on it's own it isn't

A fully packed PS2 store to go alongside BC would be a little better.

Munky, don't forget Gran Turismo 5 for the PS3...I believe rumors have confirmed its appearance at the conference. I say this because thats all I care about :(

I think this will be a great conference, but it remains to be seen if they can beat Microsoft ;)

Pretty much finished. I'll add more news items when I get time, juggling about 5 tasks right now while everyone sleeps it seems :p

He's only adding confirmed games.

There's still a good chance GT5 won't show and all the focus will be on GT PSP....

Tokyo Games Show is looking quite likely for GT5 :(

I hope Sony have got some announcements I can take advantage of after the conference. I don't think Vidzone is until the 4th, but a new firmware launching today would be nice! It is Tuesday, the day firmware usually appears.

I'm excited to see a good chunk of gameplay footage today from Uncharted 2, GoW3, Heavy Rain and MAG. If the MS conference lacked one thing it was gameplay footage from their exclusives, both Crackdown 2 and L4D 2 were CGI and I don't think the Alan Wake footage was the most exciting, even although it looked technically impressive. Splinter Cell did look good though, and so did Forza 3.

lolwut?

They supported BC on launch models then get rid of it then bring it back? If it is announed most will not care and it will certainly not be a killer announment. The games on demand for 360 is a much better announment and they didn't even show it at their conference.

This year i want to see Sony actually show decent stuff for the PS3 mostly and not the PS2/PSP. Last year was for PS2 honestly.

If they take up more than 10 minutes on the PS2, They might aswell pack up and go home.

Do we know if it will be being shown in the auditorium of Home? Wasn't that their 'plans' for future presentations like this?

^ So they said, that was a few years ago though and the closest we ever got was Jack Tretton opening the show with a CGI video of Home.

Yes I believe it is.

It's also been confirmed the presentation will loop/replay afterwards in Home overnight or something like that for those who missed it.

I'll probably watch it on my PC for easy access to posting on Neowin but I'm gonna jump in Home as well in case they give out free stuff. Might even be codes for actual game unlocks or things on the Playstation Store opposed to Home items, we can hope.

Hopefully they hand out Uncharted 2 beta codes :p

E3 Comes to PlayStation Home

In case you haven’t noticed, the almighty Internets have been abuzz with gossip about E3, PlayStation Home, and where the two will meet. Well I’m here to put the rumors to rest once and for all, and confirm what the community has been whispering about in the corners of Home over the last month.

3577148805_187db1b236.jpg

Here’s the deal: We will be showcasing a special taping of Jack Tretton’s E3 Keynote Address in-world come Tuesday evening. We’ll also be bringing you tons of showroom floor footage, developer interviews, sneak peeks, and other cool vids courtesy of our friends over here at the PlayStation.Blog. All you have to do is head over to the Presentation Podium to watch it on the big screen. This special Events space is accessible via the Menu Pad – just press Start > Locations > World Map then select the PlayStation Home World Map chip and press X. This will break out into several other chips; just scroll over to the Presentation Podium chip, press X, and teleport your self to the party.

This shindig is running for the entirety of E3. That’s right – 3 full days. So whether you’re a morning bird or a night owl, you can come into PlayStation Home and check out this hot footage. We’ll also be giving away limited-time, exclusive virtual items. But you’ll have to keep your eyes peeled and make sure that you are in-world all-day, every day if you want to get them all…

The E3 keynote will be looping throughout the evening hours from 06.02 - 06.04 in the Presentation Podium space.

That makes me think it might not be live... but we'll see.

Speaking of beta codes, I have mine to dish out.

Rob has dibs on one, the other 3 can go to long time members of the GH. I'll create the PSN account now.

I was gonna ask for one, but tbh Munky I'm away for 3 weeks come the 5th with no access to a PS3 so it'll probably be a waste of a code :(

I assume the beta only runs for a short period of time.

Might have to hang around Home. Would be great if there were some giveaways too, especially if it were Uncharted 2 Beta codes!

Hopefully Sony will show some pretty good stuff. I'd like to see a massive firmware update personally, then lots more info about exclusives (and some MGS:Rising gameplay footage would be nice!).

Decision is yours dude. If you find out the details let me know.

Just give it to someone who can play with you guys (Y) Cheers though.

If I manage to pickup my own code I'll waste it on myself for the 2 days I'm here then let others use it also.

Betas only tend to run for a couple of weeks, maybe a month if you're lucky :p

Playing PS2 games? I think that boat has sailed now. Unless a full blown store comes together with the update, with lots of games at reasonable prices, I don't think it would even matter.

(Y) +1

The XMB definitely needs to be more "social". It just seems so static and lifeless as it is. I hope they do something about it.

I'm interested to see what Sony makes of this! Sorry to troll, but I don't know how on earth they will top Xbox's Natal project..

That's easy, show some products with an actual release date and some exclusive games.

Natal was a tech demo, and it was cool in some respects, but I'd hardly call it a show stealer. If it was available now and they had it bundled with a decent game as an example you could say it could not be topped, but at this point it's just a theory if anyone really cares. Seeing that demo filled me with a sense of dread that soon we'll be enduring Cooking Mama HD against twi-lyt-gurl123 but she'll have to pause and twitter about her awesome score every 20 minutes.

Taken on game console merit alone, the MS show was pretty weak, although I am looking forward to SC:C, L4D2 and Alan Wake.

aren't we about due a firmware update?

Besides, think I'm gonna watch it online rather than in Home, I get the feeling it'll be rammed.

Well hopefully IGN/Gamespot have sorted out their bandwidth this time around and don't do what they done yesterday :hmmm:

Sony got away with it in the last few years. Hyping games and stuff that only came out 2 years later, after being delayed. Some still haven't come out yet.

And FYI, Natal is not just a tech demo, it's working now with current games IGN.com.

That was so annoying! Even G4TV's started freezing loads after about 45mins in.

And I swear IGN's was like 5mins behind
