M1000 Posted June 8, 2009 Share Posted June 8, 2009 Every time i want to run disc check.... it says 'Windows was unable to complete the disc check' What should i do?? When i use disc defragmenter, it says.... Disc Defragmenter has detected that Chkdsk is scheduled to run on the volume : (C:). Please run Chkdsk /f. So, i go to start>run> and type Chkdsk /f and it asks me whether i want it to be checked on the next startup and i type Y meaning yes.. On the next startup it says 'windows was unable to check disc.. What on earth is happening to my hard drive?? Not only that,, whenever i use Eset to scan my system, it gets jammed.. The same thing happens when i use Trojan Hunter.. Please help me!!!! RobCr Posted June 8, 2009 Share Posted June 8, 2009 (edited) I would not be attempting that from within Windows. Use (full) XP CD, and run it from the Recovery Console. I would be using /r instead of /f Probably a good idea to have all your data backed up first. Rob PS Re-reading your post, it may not run from the Recovery Console either. What I would do first, is get another hard drive, and clone the bad one into it. Others may care to chip in here, in case your drive is dying, as every step you take may be adding to the damage.
