Microsoft changes Licensing 6.0

Recommended Posts

MICROSOFT will today introduce changes to its Licensing 6.0 and Software Assurance programs designed to give its customers of the controversial scheme greater value for money.

The enhancements, which are to be rolled out globally in a staged process over three months from September, give customers access to greater levels of support, enhanced training, and greater flexibility in the way they use software licensed from Microsoft.

The changes aimed to attract more business customers to the scheme. Currently just 65 per cent of Australian customers have signed up to the program.

The scheme is a volume licensing deal in which customers sign up to use Microsoft?s software over a three-year period for an annualised sum, giving them access to any upgrades to the software over that period.
