NXPdev
Hmm, and what's with the placement in the taskbar? You hiding some minimized windows? :ninja: :shifty: If your talking about them being centered - apparently that's how the new LH taskbar displays things.. kjordan2001
If your talking about them being centered - apparently that's how the new LH taskbar displays things.. That's a really odd way of displaying them...I think I'd find that rather annoying
NXPdev
That's a really odd way of displaying them...I think I'd find that rather annoying  Me too... a lot, but then, when Windows 95 came out, did everyone go - "oh, but I like my icons spread all over the place!?" We'd probably all get used to it eventually
Gary_Player
Silly Longhorn...honestly I could give a flying ******************************* about how the silly thing looks...when XP came out everybody was like "oooohhh...its so pretty" in their best blonde-cheerleader voice and now we've all cracked the themes one way or another and replaced good ol luna with something else. I'm quite sure we'll do the same to Longporn when it comes out. What I'm really worried about is the stuff we've all been worried about in EVERY windows release. Stability and Longevity. I have been running this install of windows XP pro for about 6 months now and I'm already noticing serious slow downs in explorer based stuff. Windows take longer to pop up, programs take longer to respond, games lag here and there...Everything is up to spec and I have this beast tweaked out like no other, but even with only 300 threads of stuff and all the possible extra crap disabled, uninstalled, or whatever else, its still slowin down. They said in Longhorn theyre gonna fix alot of that, a self-repairing OS and a replacement system for DLLs to get rid of inconsitancies and such but they promised that in Xp as well...I love XP, but it still got slutted up just as fast as win2k did and as for win9x...we wont even talk about that... *end rant*

Glowstick
once my divx player had a leak over 1 gig on my old pc...here's one from yesterday with photoshop Photoshop keeps most allocated memory until you close it, it doesn't care if pictures are loaded or not. Joshie
I dunno whut people are sayin' about XP's explorer. o.O I've never seen it go above 0% at idle, no matter how long I have it up and/or how many programs I've run. Mebbe y'all just bad at managing things? -.-
Andre
Photoshop keeps most allocated memory until you close it, it doesn't care if pictures are loaded or not. You mean minimize it.. not close it. But yeah, if you minimize PS, memory usage will drop down dramatically. heh, maybe LH should have something like that... whenever you turn off your monitor, explorer's mem usage drops down. :p
rocks1985
When do we get to see buid 4016? or 4017?
NXPdev
Unless Microsoft has slowed down to a rate of 1 build per month (which, amazingly, was the speed they were going at before), expect the next build to be later this year, closer to PDC. Some sites, which I won't mention, seem to speculate a build 4021 at least.

Winston
u actually cant blame some of ur mem usages but i have noticed themes also do account for mem usages believe it or not... if u stick with default ur fine i stick with luna i like it and i always have a fine PC to use
parad0x
Actually the reason it was so high is I was using XP's "Picture and Fax Viewer". Try it sometime - load up a really high resolution pic and click "Actual Size". Depending on how big the pic is, your mem usage will skyrocket.
