Personally I do still use MPC HC for media playing - as stated above, it does play anything. Edit: Is there some kind of word filter or something? hdood Posted January 1, 2010 Share Posted January 1, 2010 Yes, WMP certainly does. Audioboxer's advice is good though, all you need to install is the Haali Media Splitter. It will make WMP revert to DirectShow instead of MF, but it works fine. You might also want AC3Filter for sound. Don't bother installing any of the codec packs, they just aren't needed. I do not use WMP because neither with CCCP, shark, or DivX can I get DXVA + Thumbnails + Subtitles for all H.264 Files. And I just can't play videos without DXVA as I have Intel Atom. I use the latest build of MPC - Home Cinema. It loads fast. It supports Windows 7 features just like WMP. I can configure it to play ALL H.264 files via DXVA. Try MKV2VOB I am not sure what video player you are talking about. Also that is really the redneck way of doing things. It wasted a bunch of time in which you could be enjoying your show / movie. Recode a movie then watch a movie vs watch a movie. For W7 I recommend MPC- Home Cinema SVN 1453 + Microsoft H.264 Decoder + CoreAAC + Haali Splitter. :) Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
