Neowin Digital Gallery

Recommended Posts

Welcome to the Neowin photo gallery! Here you can post your pictures and discuss your photography techniques.

Please be mindful of our members on dial-up and try to keep the dimensions of the pics and the size of the files to a respectable size for 1024 x 768 viewers. Please refrain from quoting images in your replies.

I will also ask that you link to images on your own space, as much as possible.

Try to put more details from your camera settings and also talk about what you have done with photoshop.

There are a lot of photographers here that like your editing skills and would like to learn more.

The previous thread can be found here.

Thanks!

yea it was rather dark. I'd spin the polarizer slowly for about 1080 degrees and couldn't tell a difference. So I said "screw it" and took the 30 second exposure not really worrying about it lol. It was for stand alone art for the news paper, so I didn't really care.

That means you probably left it at a point where it actually amplified the reflections because those are some freakin' epic reflections.

Yeah, but I guess an exposure that long kinda beats the purpose of using a polarizer filter in the first place, since what you want to be able to see if the river bottom and not the reflections. What were you aiming for?

I had it on for some architectural shots I was doing of the building in the same post. I was walking back to the newsroom and decided to snap that incase we ran some filler/fluff story about all the rain lately. I kept it on cuz it cuts the light down by about 1 stop, so that helped make the exposure longer.
