Disable it from startup process and disable its service:

Start

Run (type in run if in Vista/7 and press ENTER)

Type in "msconfig" (no quotes)

Under the Startup tab, remove "mobsync.exe" (uncheck it) [This will prevent it from loading at start up]

Under the Services tab, uncheck any service that sounds like it involves mobsync; look for something like Microsoft Sync Center or Synchronization

Finally, restart your computer.

it's not present in msconfig and the services list :(

In control panel if you go to Offline files and click the button to

disable offline files there will be nothing for sync center to try to

syncronize.
