TonyLock
I'm running the development version of Chrome 5 (build: 5.0.322.2.dev) and I've noticed that for some reason, the "pin tabs" option is now missing. This was a fantastic feature and I have no idea why it's gone or when it will come back. This sorta reminds when when new developers at Microsoft started to work on Media Player 7, who had very little experience of MP6 and lower, didn't realize that the "space bar" is also used as a pause/play keyboard shortcut, and so didn't include it in future releases of the application (even now it's missing!) Almost 100% of computer based media players use the space-bar (as well as the Ctrl+P) as the shortcut to play/pause. It's about usability and clearly that issue may be the same here where new developers at Google didn't use or know about the Pin-Tab feature and didn't include it as part of the new major dev release. Someone on another thread mentioned Google did this because they were looking at a different method to manage tabs, but there was not article link about this so I assume this was the guys assumption. Can anyone share any light on the issue?
drunkgoat
The feature is being replaced with something new that hasn't yet made it's way into the current dev build. But I agree with you, I used that feature frequently and now miss it.

ADSfull
yep i notice that too, 2 builds ago you could force to pin it by drag it to the corner but in the past build if you do that it shrinks but don't pin, now on this build it's impossible, so i think they deleted it slowly that mean that they are replacing it with something else, maybe for Chrome OS? Quillz
Wow, I never even noticed a "Pin Tab" context option before. I never made much use of it, but I could certainly see how useful it'd be for some.

The Right Guy
It's still in version 5.0.335.0 dev. They definately changed the pin tab behavior.. Now, in 5.0.335.0 dev, when you pin a tab the Favicon get bigger on mouse hover and the tab stays here when you close it
BetaAddict
I liked the old pin tab behavior where you only had to slide the tab all the way to left and hold it there for a second before it pins. That method is a lot faster than having to manually right click the tab and select "pin tab." I hope they change it back. Though, the favicon zooming certainly makes it easier to navigate and easy on the eyes.
