Net Applications today published the browser and operating system statistics for January 2010. Notable numbers:

Chrome Only Major Browser to Gain Usage Share in February

The Google Chrome browser gained .4% of global usage share in January. All other major browsers showed a month-to-month decline.

Not a shocker here. Google uses the resources they have, plus have been proving that they're constantly evolving the Chrome Browser. It has replaced Firefox completely now and for good.

It doesn't surprise me that Chrome is gaining market share. Google is doing a decent job at getting their browser "out there". The frequent updates help too.

If Opera can get its marketing act together, I wouldn't be surprised to see it make great strides. The 10.50 release beats both Firefox and Chrome at their own strengths, but right now Opera just doesn't have the brand awareness and visibility to compete.
