tra Posted September 10, 2010 Share Posted September 10, 2010 Hi People, I have 2 macs one iMac 22" model mid 2010 3,06Ghz OS X 10.6.4 one Macbook Pro 15" early 2010 2,4Ghz OS X 10.6.4 On the mac book pro, the White screen(firmware?) appears for about 5 seconds, and then it shows the Apple logo with the spinning wheel, and then boots to OS X The imac shows the White screen(firmware?) for about 15 seconds, and then show the Apple logo with the spinning wheel, and then boots to OS X Why does it show so long on my iMac? amon91 Posted September 10, 2010 Share Posted September 10, 2010 I had that issue before with my MacBook and I managed to fix it by going into System Preferences > Startup Disk and making sure you have the right one set. Even if you do, try to set it again, reboot and see if the problem goes away. Again, I don't own a PowerPC-based mac so I can't really give much advice, but try that. Go into System Preferences > Start-up Disk > Select your main drive from the list and click on the "restart" button shown therein. Thanks!!!
