The Redmond company announced that it has inked an agreement with Hilton Worldwide, pushing the existing collaboration between the two companies forward. According to the software giant, Hilton Worldwide is preparing to deploy a range of products for the use of its employees and partners around the globe. Over 3,600 Hilton properties will feature such products as SharePoint 2010, Office Communications Server, Office 2010 and Windows 7. ?Microsoft truly understands the ?workplace of the future? and is uniquely positioned to deliver on that vision through its collaboration solutions,? noted Robert Webb, Hilton Worldwide?s chief information officer. ?These technologies remove communications barriers across our global enterprise, allow for a recommitment to a common platform and provide a renewed focus on our core mission to deliver the best possible experience for our guests,? he added. The adoption of Microsoft software is a part of Hilton?s Innovation Collaborative initiative. In fact, because the new deal inked, Microsoft is now a founding member of the Hilton Worldwide Innovation Collaborative. ?Our goal is to help Hilton Worldwide focus on what it does best ? providing the highest level of guest experience and satisfaction,? explained Robert Youngjohns, president of North America Sales and Marketing at Microsoft. ?Using Microsoft?s productivity and collaboration tools, Hilton Worldwide?s employees will benefit from having better access to information, the ability to quickly and easily locate subject matter experts, and improved collaboration and information sharing among geographically dispersed work teams. ?This will empower them to adapt and improve the guest experience and maintain brand loyalty.? source The software giant explained that via the Innovation Collaborative, Hilton Worldwide is making sure that it has the best hospitality technology available for its guests. Most probably that will be the case in most of the 3600 properties, as it wouldn't be financially viable to upgrade all computers with sufficient RAM and a proper dedicated/integrated graphic solution.. Then they're morons because disabling Aero decreases performance by pushing it to the CPU from the GPU - yes, even an integrated GPU with good drivers can drive the interface without any problems. The problem is that so many IT departments are filled to the brim with ****ing morons who make decisions based off second and third hand information than actually doing some research before making these decisions. Hilton can afford it, and most likely will get brand new systems. 7 works best with modern systems as well. Also you can assume that companies with alot of money have lazy staff who would much rather get new systems and upgrade that way rather than the hard way of updating all the old systems to work with newer software. lazy + alot of money = easy route.
