In other surprising news, noted fire hydrant Hector Lombard has failed his drug test like A BOSS. This surprised absolutely no one who ever laid eyes on his freakish physique.

Valentine's day brings us a nice card that was saved from utter failure by Ben Henderson's move to the WW division. He basically just decided to fight at his post-cut weight. Brandon Thatch finally returns after a brutal layoff and he has an extremely stiff test in front of him. He's one of the top WW prospects and I hope he shows his mettle and keeps his 100% finishing percentage.

Main Card (FS1, 10 PM ET/7 PM PT)

Ben Henderson vs. Brandon Thatch
Max Holloway vs. Cole Miller
Neil Magny vs. Kiichi Kunimoto
Daniel Kelly vs. Patrick Walsh
Michel Prazeres vs. Kevin Lee
Ray Borg vs. Chris Kelades

Preliminary Card (FS1, 8 PM ET/5 PM PT)

Nik Lentz vs. Levan Makashvili
Efrain Escudero vs. Rodrigo Lima
Chas Skelly vs. Jim Alers
Zach Makovsky vs. Tim Elliott

Preliminary Card (Fight Pass, 7:30 PM ET)

James Moontasri vs. Cody Pfister

Promos for Rousey vs Zingano are on the way. In the meanwhile, here is one of (if not the) best fights in the UFC, Zingano vs Tate.

The fight that almost happened that didn't and killed off EliteXC

And NEWWWWWWWWWWWWW

That whole event was GLORIOUS!

UFC 185 PPV Main Event:

155 lbs.: UFC Lightweight Champion Anthony Pettis (155) vs. Rafael dos Anjos (155) - This was a complete mauling by Rafael dos Anjos, and he did it with a torn MCL no less. After Pettis took that shot in the eye in the opening round, it stopped being competitive altogether, no matter how much Joe Rogan tried to hype it. Melendez had already laid down the gameplan to beat the champ in his title shot, he was beating Pettis up but got caught. RdA didn't allow that to happen and took a pretty one-sided decision. I'm pretty happy that he won and I hope he stays healthy and defends the belt. Pettis is too much of a glass cannon to keep a division on hold for. This also pretty much guarantees that Khabib will be champion by the end of the year.

UFC 185 PPV Co-Main Event:

115 lbs.: Women's Strawweight Champion Carla Esparza (115) vs. Joanna Jedrzejczyk (115) - This was hard to watch, Esparza had NOTHING for Jedrzejczyk, gassed pretty hard in the first minute and just kept trying for takedowns that were never going to happen. She looked like Brock when he saw that he couldn't take down Overeem. Her corner should've stopped the fight sooner because she had no path to victory after the first round. Jedrzejczyk's TDD was on point and the rest was just taking pot shots at a sitting duck. If Jojo gets a win in her next fight, Jedrzejczyk vs Calderwood would be a great first title defense for the Strawweight division. Or maybe the UFC will make an offer to Jessica Aguilar, clearly the #1 Strawweight outside of the UFC.

UFC 185 PPV Main Card (10 p.m. ET):

170 lbs.: Johny Hendricks (170) vs. Matt Brown (171) - Hendricks wrestle-boxed his way to a win. How "exciting". When the WW is finally starting to get fun, he decides to sit it out and wait for the title shot. For real? Get off your ass and get some fights in. As for Matt Brown, just keep booking him into wars. Jordan Mein, Carlos Condit and Brandon Thatch are all coming in from losses.

265 lbs.: Roy Nelson (254) vs. Alistair Overeem (247) - Post-steroids Overeem clearly isn't the same guy physically, but being at Jackson's MMA has balanced out his fight IQ to compensate. He put a beatdown on Roy Nelson and should've finished him. Very reminiscent of his Frank Mir fight, where a strong wind would've knocked Mir out and yet he held back. He could even have gone for a rare leg kick TKO, as Roy's leg was toast, but chose not to. As for Roy, 30 seconds left, you tag the guy and then drop for a takedown that was never going to happen? Really? Just retire already.

089_Alistair_Overeem_vs_Roy_Nelson.0.jpg

125 lbs.: Chris Cariaso (126) vs. Henry Cejudo (125) - Cejudo made 125, had a 3 round gas tank and beat Cariaso around. I'm afraid he's going to ###### hot. Either that or he got his career finally on track. Probably 1 fight away from a title shot, but I think the UFC should give him at least 2 more fights against Top 10 opponents before throwing him to Mighty Mouse.

UFC 185 FX Network "Prelims" (8 p.m. ET):

155 lbs.: Ross Pearson (156) vs. Sam Stout (156) - Pearson has probably hit his ceiling in the LW division after his fight with Al Iaquinta (or almost) but Stout is pretty much done. Hasn't been able to string two wins together since 2011, last win is Cody McKenzie and he got viciously KO'ed in his last two outings. Time to hang it up.

185 lbs.: Elias Theodorou (186) vs. Roger Narvaez (186) -  No idea why Narvaez still has a job with the UFC other than to get squashed. This fight was tailor made for Theodorou and you can see why. He's a young. charismatic MW and appeals to a market that has provided the UFC with tons of money. I just hope that they don't rush him into a fight that will break him.

185 lbs.: Daron Cruickshank (157.5)* vs. Beneil Dariush (156) -  Dariush had just finished putting the arm around the neck and Cruickshank was tapping. He knew he was done. Dariush has been improving since his loss against Ramsey Nijem so I guess it's time to throw him against a Top 20 guy to see how he fares.

265 lbs.: Jared Rosholt (245) vs. Josh Copeland (264) - The epitome of a trashweight fight. Still, Cuddly Bear is a great nickname.

UFC 185 Fight Pass "Prelims" (6:30 p.m. ET):

125 lbs.: Sergio Pettis (126) vs. Ryan Benoit (126) - This hype train has been derailed for good. Joe Rogan was tripping over himself to sing Pettis' praises and BAM! Benoit put an end to his 125 aspirations pretty quickly. Since the FLW division is shallow as a puddle, both of them are probably 3 fights away from contention anyway, regardless of tonight's result.

tumblr_nl87euebxo1rofocqo1_500.gif

155 lbs.: Jake Lindsey (156) vs. Joseph Duffy (156) - This was a squash match and everybody knew it. From Duffy's announcement that he'll drop to 145, it's clearly just to set up a storyline against the Notorious one. If you put money on Lindsey for the upset, you're a sucker.

135 lbs.: Larissa Pacheco (136) vs. Germaine de Randamie (136) - This also hurt to watch. Larissa seemed like she didn't know how to get the fight to the ground (where she had the slight edge) and was content in showing that her chin is pretty good by eating a ton of shots. It was mercifully stopped but should've been stopped sooner. Larissa is probably getting a one way ticket back to Jungle Fights in order to grow a bit more as a fight. As for Germaine, no idea. I hope she doesn't think she can beat Ronda because that would be a ridiculously short fight.

I always love how Dana is in the middle of everything trying to break it up

Dana just smells money. Connor just put an Aldo headlined card over 500K buys with that stunt.

I know McGregor is showboating for the cameras, but watched some footage of their interactions and Aldo may not look scared, but he doesn't look confident either, will definitely see this one at a bar or sports place

And he's probably going out in a strecher if Gonzaga stays on point.
