HACKINTOSH! HACKINTOSH! HACKINTOSH!

Defeats the purpose of the device. Besides, with an 8GB SSD as sole storage option there is no room to hackintosh it.

I'm a bit confused as to the internet connection on this thing. It's has a regular WI-FI adapter AND a built in 3G adapter? So that means if you have a wireless router you don't have to buy the Verizon data plan? Or do you have to get the plan anyway?

You are Given a FREE data plan with Verizon once it expires you are find you can continue to use it with Wifi with no issue what so ever.

To the people who received the laptops so far: how early did you guys sign up? Also, which "user" did you classify yourselves as? (e.g. Individual, Developer, etc.)

I filled out a form from a drop down in my Chrome home page two days ago, though the form I just filled out now looked way more in depth. What was that first form, then?

It would make it usable though. although a slimmed down Linux install would probably be better.

I wonder what kind of hard drive connection is it has? Is the 8 gig SSD hardwired to the motherboard or can you take it out and put in your own hard drive / ssd drive?

Yes, I applied on Tuesday around 1:45pm PST, and am wondering if I was skipped or if I may still get one. Ah well, time will tell!

These things must be a dime a dozen then. I applied yesterday as an individual, here's to hoping I get one.

Not exactly dime a dozen as there were only 66K of the devices manufactured.

Here is a question, do they support Java (not JS) and If so can you run Minecraft on it?

Is there a way to pull up a terminal on that thing? (It is Linux based, right?) :)

CTRL + ALT + T will bring op the console which acts as a Terminal

I wouldn't mind getting one of these to play around with. Before I left my apartment a Fed-Ex truck pulled up, I got excited but it was a let down.

I signed up as a company user, but as most of you...I never seem to get selected for these things. Here's to wishful thinking...

I am sure we will see more people with them tomorrow. who noes how many they even sent out in the first batch however you would have to assume that they did not send out all 66k of the units in one shipment that would be a waste they can spread them out and send them to groups or what not and not just the first group of people that sign up.
