eviljedi
Hey, is there anywhere I can download a copy of vista with all the updates already applied legally? I have a key and an old DVD but it doesn't even have SP1 and I can't be bothered installing all the updates again. It would be so much easier to just download and burn an iso with all the latest updates.

Chasethebase Reporter Posted December 30, 2010 Reporter Share Posted December 30, 2010 Install OS Begin Update Download Go to bed ????? Profit. On that note, I don't know of any way to legally download an ISO.
cork1958
Yeah, right! How many people out there do you think would want to do the same thing, only using and illegal key, if they could? Either be bothered by downloading updates again, or get Windows 7. It's 100 times better than that crap Vista anyway.
Steven P. Administrators Posted December 30, 2010 Administrators Share Posted December 30, 2010 Just install Vista and get the standalone SP2 update, be sure to turn off Windows Update after you boot for the first time though! Link: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/en/details.aspx?FamilyID=a4dd31d5-f907-4406-9012-a5c3199ea2b3&displaylang=en Microsoft doesn't offer a way to legally download an already slipstreamed Vista SP2 .iso but you could call Microsoft UK and ask them to ship you an updated disc w/o a key, I think you only have to pay shipping costs, I did it once out here in The Netherlands years ago. Install OS Begin Update Download Go to bed ????? Profit. On that note, I don't know of any way to legally download an ISO. Dude, do you know how many times Vista requires a restart before it's fully updated? That ain't gonna work LOL!
riceBox
On that note, I don't know of any way to legally download an ISO. MSDN/Technet. Dunno about MSDNAA, since mine doesn't offer Vista.
Sadelwo
Wouldn't V-lite work for that?
Steven P. Administrators Posted December 30, 2010 Administrators Share Posted December 30, 2010 MSDN/Technet. Dunno about MSDNAA, since mine doesn't offer Vista. That requires a subscription.
6205
This is available on MSDN. If you don't have a subscription, you have to find that iso somewhere else. Google should help :) File Name: en_windows_vista_with_sp2_x86_dvd_342266.iso SHA1: 25AD9A776503E6A583BEC07879DBCC5DFD20CD6E ISO/CRC: E2AD10F9 This file includes the following 32bit Windows Vista editions: Business, Business N, Home Basic, Home Basic N, Home Premium, and Ultimate. Julius Caro
If you have an actual legit key I dont see the harm ... Anyway, you could also get it shipped from microsoft: http://www.microsoft.com/windowsvista/1033/ordermedia/default.mspx (it does say it contains the SP2). You would only need to pay for shipping costs. Only downside is that if you want it on DVD, you would only be able to get the 64-bit version. sc302 Veteran Posted December 30, 2010 Veteran Share Posted December 30, 2010 why not slipstream the service packs and updates into your current disk using v-Lite. Or is knowing that you have a clean disk image, not some molested disk image on a warez site that takes forever and a year to download, not good enough for you? Sadelwo
Don't know if its been mentioned before but this handy little utility allows you to download updates and keep them on a drive so that you won't have to constantly download all the updates when you do a clean install. Its called wsusofflineupdate.
