AJerman
Haha, I got happy panda because I tested in China then tested back at my local server again. When i'm at school, I'll do this test again: 150MBit down and 50Mbit up :D Naah, I keep it fair and fun :) Might as well, I did my test at work, haha. Edit: Tested again at home: Yipee for Road Runner's BS Power Boost that makes them look better on speed tests. Too bad the upload still looks like ****. Ambroos
Yeah, his "ISP" is Softlayer Technologies, so he probably works there, but he tested with the Softlayer Technologies server too. So he basically did his speedtest over an internal network :p I consider that cheating :D Cupcakes, Carbon Fiber and Ryster 3 Share

AJerman
We're tech nerds, we should show what we have access to, be it at home, school, or work. You can run a test for each location if you want.
JTaylor69
Go find somewhere that has a 1Gbps connection and you're all sorted. There is one rule; test your speed. :p

Singh400
DaveLegg you gay, stop cheating  http://www.softlayer.com/ provides dedi servers and etc. is it even theoretically possible to have a 1Gb/s connection? Yup, South Korea are doing 1Gbps to home connections. I think some parts of Sweden and Japan are already there.

JTaylor69
Weak internet =( It's pretty decent compared to some of the ADSL ISPs over here in the UK!

DaveLegg Developer Posted March 9, 2011 Developer Share Posted March 9, 2011 I concur. The rules state test your internet speed, not your LAN speed :) Actually, my server is in Dallas, and I tested against a server in Fort Worth. I actually got better speed that way, than against a server at a different DC in Dallas, go figure. The server has a 1gbps connection, but obviously had traffic using it at the time (websites I host etc). Softlayer offer up to 10gbps connections to each server though. It's sometimes quite tempting :p but realistically, nothing on the other end would be able to keep up.

Harlem39s Finest
download speed is pretty awesome compared to what i've had in last 5 years (2mbs max, 30GB capped, and heavily throttled.) upload is low but i don't really care much about it.
