I've upgraded but I'm not a huge fan of the new UI. To be honest, if it wasn't for the extensions I use, I'd switch to IE9 full-time because I think it looks better and feels much faster. I'm surprised it's taken Mozilla this long to produce such a meh update. All IE9 needs is a free ad blocker to match Adblock Plus and I'd switch.

The average IE user just waits till they get a WU notification so this is not all that surprising really

I downloaded firefox 4 but can't stand it. I use IE 9 and chrome. I do still use Firefox 3 on my laptop.

It has just reached 3 Million downloads. I think it was released 8 hours ago ? 7am PDT or around 1:30 GMT ? If they can keep it going at this rate, it might break the record. What time is it in America now ? Europe which is the largest downloader so far is cooling down but I guess there might be a peak when USA goes into early night time.

It would be nice if they broke the record, it would probably be good for competition, Microsoft will be pushing to release IE10 quickly and Chrome will be looking to get more customization into their browser.

Still like IE9 more than FF4. Also, some posters have already alluded to...there's OS barrier to IE9 while I don't believe that's the case with FF4.

Yes, there is an addon that allows you to move it to another bar or hide it.

Here is my Firefox 4 setup: http://img862.images...5/firefox4z.png

What did you use to change the colour of the blue UI bars to silver?

Cheers :)

From my personal observation, the average user blocks Windows Update altogether :/

You mean they just ignore it and don't install them? I don't know many people that consciously block WU

Personas, I used the one called Stylish. The White Glossy one looks nice also. :)

does that count the auto-updates? mine went from the beta to regular by itself...

Linux isn't included in the stats either. Unless of course you download it directly from the site.

And yet at end of the day IE9 will have the largest share.

Will never happen. XP > Win7 + Vista.
IE10 next year.

FF4 4.5 million downloads by now . http://glow.allizom.org/ Measure direct downloads from Mozilla's site, not updates.

Thus FF4 has less entry barriers, therefore more downloads.

True. I use FF4 on Windows 7 at home and XP at work but can only use IE9 at home.

XP's use is dwindling all the time, Windows 7 is growing very quickly. At the moment, the biggest threat to Microsoft appears to be Chrome, it's growing incredibly quickly
