Gartner also predicts WP7 beating iPhone

Recommended Posts

Previously I posted about IDC and Ovum saying that WP7 will overtake iOS in near future(https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/985270-analyst-wp7-to-overtake-iphone-in-2016/page__p__593823462__fromsearch__1#entry593823462).

Now add Gartner to that list too. They believe WP7 to overtake Blackberry in 2013, and iPhone in 2015.

Heres the news link to that article(http://wmpoweruser.com/gartner-predicts-windows-phone-7-will-overtake-blackberry-in-2013-overtake-iphone-in-2015/)

And heres the Source link for Gartner's own website, predicting this(http://www.gartner.com/it/page.jsp?id=1622614).

Below is a snapshot from there website.

As I have said before, the release version is just to make people aware of the name. it's not even officially released and supported in most of the world. Once we get version 1.5 (7.5) and 2.0(8) we should see MS put some hard marketing behind it along with Nokia. We've seen it before, it's what they did with the Xbox. once that happens and people start to hit the end of their contracts (especially in contracts that for some ridiculous reason allows more than 12 month consumer contracts) we'll see that Microsofts real push will start. and by then they should have most of the world supported.

The biggest issue for WIPHONE 7 is that it needs to be updated in a more sane manner, much like the IPHONE does where you just sync with itunes and presto, why not just push the updates to ZUNE software and skip these dumb ass cell carriers. However this method should be attached to a warning, any custom apps from the carrier could be fooked.

Yeah, me too. Anybody can make wild guesses. Although, I do think the WP7 will be big in the future. I just don't know how big.
