The Descent

YES! I didn't find it particularly scary, but it was still an excellent film. I still remember seeing it in theaters (although it was the US version, with the stupid happy ending, watch the UK version people!). Lionsgate ruined the ending because they felt that Americans couldn't handle the original ending.

How have I never seen this thread? I need to look into some of these movies. I'd like to find some good scary movies because I find most scary movies to be a bit of a joke, especially now days. I don't think a good scary movie has been made in decades.

The Shining used to be it for me as I saw it when I was like 8 or something and it just scared the hell out of me. However, as an adult, to this day the original Paranormal Activity scare me every time. The first time I saw it in the theater, I left my lights on at bed time.

In the past 5 years I really think Insidious was actually scary. Everyone has their opininos but the throwback to the 70s eerie feel and sound had me taken aback. All the movies the guy has made after Insidious like, Sinister and The Conjuring feel like he's just trying to recreate the magic of Insidious.

Scariest horror movie of all time? I thought when I was a kid Blair Witch and the Exorcist were pretty horrific in their own ways oh and ringu.

The Exorcism of Emily Rose (2005 the remake).I'm not religious but still it was creepy

oh god yeah the bit where you started bending backwards and hear bones cracking with her black eyes that sent massive shivers up my spine, the rest of it was ok

Tbh i think no one will ever manage to make a properly scary movie like happened decades ago because theres to much stuff going on in the world now thats "scarier" or more intense than a scary movie could portray without it being banned before its ever screened cus were so desensitised to stuff now.

but having said that the right music and build up can put major shivers up your spine, paranormal activity did a good job of that on all of them, they werent scary but they left an impression of you. but the spoof of it A Haunted House is absolutely hilarious that the funniest spoof ive seen in ages. You lot got to watch it :D:D

When I was little (less than 5 most likely) I saw a film on TV which ended with a tap slowly dripping water. I believed that, because nobody remained around to shut the tap, huge tidal waves would eventually hit cities and that everybody would die. Had serious trouble sleeping that night and I couldn't stop thinking about it for a long time.

Kinda sad I don't know the name or remember anything else about it.
