The lastest roadmaps seen by the INQUIRER show that the main thrust of its server chipset business during 2002 will be hogged by the Pentium 4 processor, but it is sticking to its plans to support the Hammer with its K8HTB chipset.During 2002, we will see chipsets aimed at the Pentium 4 server market and these are the P4X266/A, the P4X333/400, the P4X600 and the P4X800.
Intel and Via are currently engaged in litigation over licences of the Pentium 4 bus, but this does not appear to dissuade the Taiwanese firm from taking advantage of Chipzilla's introductions during this year. A whole range of chips branded as VPX chips support the server introductions, with north bridge details being as follows.
Rev A2 of the VPX-64 is for dual Tualatin processors. The VPX-64 is a PCI 64-bit, 66MHz part, which integrates an "uplink" AGP 4X port, and supports four slots at 66MHz and six slots at 33MHz.
