32GB Nexus 7 is inbound, price stays flat

Rumors have spread over the last few weeks that ASUS and Google would introduce a 32GB version of the Nexus 7 and that evidence sure is mounting up. UK retailer Argos has just released its Christmas Gift Guide, which shows they'll be a selling a Nexus 7 with 32GB capacity for £199.99, the current selling price of the 16GB model.

Stables Advantage also has the larger capacity tablet listed at $248.37 with an estimated availability date of October 18th. Interestingly, they have the 32GB version priced lower than the 16GB version, so it looks likely that the latter will be phased out.

The Nexus 7 was unveiled at Google I/O in June and was first released in July of this year. The tablet was designed and developed by Google in conjunction with ASUS and features a 7-inch display, a Nvidia Tegra 3 quad-core processor and 1GB of RAM.

I actually bought the 16GB one on Monday, I read when I got home the 32GB was coming out so I too it back the next day. Hell if its only a few weeks away for the 32GB I can wait. From what I played with it though (the 16GB model), its awesome. Speedy as hell (compared to my ageing Xoom WiFi). It got the 4.1.1 and then the 4.1.2 update as soon as I turned it on so the 32GB should do the same.

I bought my 16GB version when it was released here in the Netherlands on September 4th. Now, 1.5 month later, it's already obsolete and 50 euro's cheaper? This is ridiculous, I'm returning mine!

Depending on the price of the iPad Mini if it happens, I am going to seriously consider one of these ... they're lovely. We have them at work and I really like them. Great that it's stock Google OS too and not some butchered hack job by a crappy vendor like Samsung etc.

Bargain! This is so much better value than Surface. Loads of apps, content, and space, as well as buttery smooth JB

Yup, loving my Nexus 7 and laughing at the prospect of a $500 Surface trying to compete...thats 2.5x the price lol!

Actually it went up $10.00 in Canada... again we get f*cked. (I know it is only $10m but it always happens to us here even though our dollar is worth more than the American buck.

On a separate note, if this device only had HDMI out I would have already bought it.

You could stream the content to a games console I guess. I use doubleTwist.

This sucks for early adopters like myself who are now stuck with a 16GB nexus 7. I guess if something happens to it they would replace it with a 32GB version seeing as the 16GB one is likely to be discontinued.

I am considering putting in for a replacement as I am getting some left edge screen lift on my n7 from the C70 batch, it keeps lifting above the bezel. I think I should wait until it's confirmed these 32GB ones are shipping, the extra space would be a bonus.

are you forgetting $25 ??

no? £199.99 is what I paid for my nexus 7, the 32GB one is the same price.

They are referring to the Play store credit that came with it, that 32gb won't come with

I was looking at getting my kids a tablet for watching movies on the road. This 32GB version will fit that need nicely!!!

and will they make a ~10inch version, i hope so

Rumours suggest they will and it honestly wouldn't surprise me.

Just googled and read the rumours. If it hit's the right price (obviously more than the 7 inch model) but doesn't go too far trying to be a 'high end' device, then it'll be a winner.

I agree, hopefully they don't think they can charge as much as an iPad. They need to be competitive.
