Acer reveals even more Windows 8-based notebooks

Acer will have a ton of new desktops, notebooks and tablets based on Windows 8 this year and today the company revealed even more notebooks that will come with touch screen hardware designed specifically for the "Modern" UI of Microsoft's next OS.

In a press release today, Acer revealed that the 14-inch Aspire M5-481PT, shown above, will have a 10 point touch screen. It will also have up to eight hours of battery life with Intel's Core i5 processors, a 500 GB hard drive, a 20GB SSD, and a weight of 4.6 pounds. It will be sold exclusively at Best Buy stores in the US with a starting price of $799.99.

In yet another Acer press release today, the company announced that touch screen hardware will also be made available on the 14-inch Aspire V5-471P and the 15.6-inch Aspire V5-571 notebooks. They can be outfitted with Intel Core i3, Core i5 or Core i7 processors, along with a 500 or 700 GB hard drive and even a DVD disc drive, something which many notebooks are lacking nowadays.

Acer will release these particular notebooks on October 26th at several retailers, with the Aspire V5-471P price starting at $749.99 and the Aspire V5-571P starting at $699.99. Acer will also release new notebooks in the Aspire M5 and V5 lineup that will have Windows 8 installed but won't have touch screen support.
