Amazon UK lowers HTC Windows Phone 8X pre-order price to £399

Amazon UK has dropped the price of HTC's Windows Phone 8X pre-order to £399 (SIM free), having previously set a price of £531.43, so it's a rather large drop in price. Amazon UK also says that the device will be released on November 8, however we would be cautious about both as HTC has set to confirm either.

The device which was revealed earlier this month comes with a 4.3-inch Super LCD 2 display (1280 x 720), a dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 1.5 GHz processor, 1 GB of RAM, an 8-megapixel rear camera with a BSI sensor and LED flash, a 2.1-megapixel front-facing camera with an 88-degree field of view, 16GB of storage, 1,800 mAh battery and of course, Beats Audio technology.

In the US, the HTC Windows Phone 8X will be coming to T-Mobile, AT&T, and Verizon.

16Gb is still too little, I don't care what they drop the price to.

I really want this phone, but 16GB is way too small. Plus there's no memory expansion from what HTC's said, which is disappointing.

Don't really understand this.
I don't know what people put on their phones that takes up loads of space. I am using maybe around 8GB now, but I only have apps I actually used installed. I don't listen to music or watch movies, so I guess that's what takes up the space for most people.

On my WP7 device I've used about 10GB on apps alone. Lots of apps but also have Navigon sat-nav, which I believe takes up about 2GB for maps of the UK. I also have about 5GB of music on the phone so I really want my next phone to have more than 16GB available. Nokia 920 fortunately has 32GB so this is likely to be my next phone. From what I've read the SD cards won't be able to be used for apps / much of their data, only for things like photos, videos and music so no replacement for big internal storage.

Intrestingly amazon has a pre-order price guarantee, so if you pre-ordered it at this price of £399 and then HTC announces the actual price, should that price be higher then £399 you will still get it at £399 and if it drops then you pay even less.

You also only pay once its been dispatched, so if you really are interested in the 8X might be a good idea to place your pre-order now incase it does go up in price
