We hung round waiting for the appropriate authorities at AMD to get back to us about the Compaq notebook with apparently 512K cache that AMD Zone wrote about yesterday.
But the authorities are apparently otherwise occupied, and aren't returning calls (it's the quiet period), so here's the story so far.
Yesterday AMD Zone spotted that Compaq was selling a Presario notebook, listed as having 512K of cache.
The guys spoke to Compaq who told them that yes, that model does have that amount of cache and the Web page stays unchanged from when we saw it first thing this morning.
There's some doubt as to whether this is a mistake or not – a Thoroughbred was supposed to have 256K of L2 cache and one of AMD Zone's readers checked it out and said that was the story.
