Apple iPhone 2.2.1 update released

Apple has released an update for the iPhone software today.

This update contains bug fixes and improvements, including the following:

  • Improved general stability of Safari
  • Fixed issue where some images saved from Mail do not display correctly in the Camera Roll

Still no copy and paste, MMS or any bonus features this time around by the looks of things.

According to the un-official iPhone Dev Team, who provide unlocking solutions for the iPhone, "WARNING -- there are early indications that today's 3G firmware update (2.2.1_5H11) will break yellowsn0w -- do not install it".

More stable Safari needed. The most recent update improved it, but it still needs fixing. Additionally they need to fix the bug that puts distances on Google Maps into Kilometers for UK users like myself! It's driving me insane and you can't change it!!

Copy and paste wasn't in the original design or in their patent. Apple isn't going to to admit that they made a mistake by not implementing C&P in the original design. Look how long it took for them to add a freaking right mouse button to their mouse. They are so stubborn.

A more stable Safari will be greatly appreciated.

Can Neowin start posting mobile device updates for all other mobile devices or did Apple pay for some sort of special attention?

I would like more consistent/stable service - way too many dropped calls and failures than I care to count, even when I have 3 or more bars.

I agree, but I think the blame here lies w/ AT&T.

Lol why would you even do that? Unless your device is jailbroken, I don't understand... if it improves one or two things, including Safari, I think you should update. You just have to click like 1 button and go away from your computer, not like it actually requires anything more.
