Apple allows first ever iPhone porn app, sold out already

Apple has allowed an update to an application on the iPhone called "Hottest Girls", which displays pictures of girls topless. The update was released today for the 3.0 software and already has "sold out".

The virtual application which can be duplicated an infinite number of times has actually "sold out", due to an overload of users trying to download the application which could possibly crash the AppStore. The developers pulled the plug only hours after its release due to an over whelming demand for the application. The current message just displays "sold out".

This is possibly the first of many not safe for work (NSFW) applications to launch in the AppStore, but customers must be 17+ years or older to download the content.

The developers posted a message letting users know that the application will return shortly after a short server break, with all the content intact:
"The Hottest Girls app is temporarily sold out. The server usage is extremely high because of the popularity of this app. Thus, by not distributing the app, we can prevent our servers from crashing. Those who already have the app will still be able to use our app. To answer the question on everyone's mind: Yes, the topless images will still be there when it is sold again." -ATG dev team

Why would they address this problem as sold out? It'd make more sense to call it "technical issues", then again you could appease an illiterate audience that knows what "sold out" means.

People are so sexually frustrated now that they need to pay for topless girl pictures on their phone? Wouldn't it be more practical to save those extra bucks, go to a strip club, and have them in your face instead?

A strip club costs a whole lot more than $2.99 and thanks to local governments, topless women have to be at least three feet away at the clubs. Still wouldn't buy this though.

your local government sucks - i go to a strip club here, get in free and have tits in my face too.

same. here in canada no clothes at all top or bottom and they rub thier tits in your face and rub around in your junk. Some even offer quickies for a few extra $$ hehe

i just installed the app, it says "our servers are being hacked and overloaded. we will be back when the hackers stop, or when our new server ships to us."

Majority of users are not techie enough to know how to look for porn. Some may get this just for the novelty and fun alone.

It's amazing how perverted the majority of iPhone/iPod Touch users are. Yes, downloading an App that shows girls topless and you vote on them is perverted. You are all perverts. Plus, paying for such said App makes you worse than a pervet, it makes you a sick needy pervet.

Yeah but PORN!!!! PMSL!!!! It's the beginning of the floodgates opening though. Soon you be able to buy iPOV and iFirst time teens etc!!!! you are wrong to say that the majority of iPod/itouch users are perverted?? Based on what? I own a jailbroken iPod Touch, I don't have teh topless app, I don't have porn on it, neither do the majority of people I know who have one!! In what way are they perverted for wanting to see naked forms anyway? I wouldn't consider this a perversion, surely that's just a healthy interest in the human form?? Judgement much!!!!

It disturbs me that the editors here can't even read their own sources correctly.

It's not the AppStore that would crash, that's flat out ridiculous. The images are stored on a server owned by the app creator, that's what is overloading.

True. I'd rather use my imagination than some static image.

This is America. We're still having issues with boobies, apparently. Sigh.

What are you talking about? I have no issues with that. Look at them all the time. lol. >.>

haaaaaa.
It's funny how they mean different things in different contexts, an app by apple with topless women is considered pornographic while a nudist beach in Europe doesn't even raise a bypassers eyebrow.

It's just boobs at the end of the day... and i love 'em

That was really confusing in the story, but it looks as if Apple has pulled the plug temporarily, and so have the developers just to prevent crashing. I am sure Apple's servers COULD handle the load, but they have been under a lot of load this month alone, and they do not want a crash over a "porn app" ..

Seems to be a lot of posters in the last few days that don't actually read the articles

Only the last few days?

I'm thinking it's "sold out" because Apple is in the process of pulling it. They won't allow a South Park app from the producers of the show, but porn is ok?

Since iPhone OS 3.0 is out, things have changed : parental controls appeared amongst other features.
When was the South Park app submitted again?

I'm not sure. I just remember reading they rejected it due to content. I wasn't aware there were parental controls now. That's a good thing. ™

Yeah, it was about time because they kept on rejecting mature stuff and farts and whatnot and people bashed them enough... now they're able to release anything, as long as it is functional and as long as it does more than what the pre-installed apps do already

every media has been changed by the porn industry when they try to enter a especific device or technology...keep it up their hard job is paying. m/

If I had an iPhone/iPod Touch the first app I would have bought would have been iFart.
