Apple releases iOS, iTunes beta 3, Xcode 4.2 dev preview 3

Just after two weeks since the latest beta update, Apple has just released the latest iOS, iTunes and Xcode betas and developer previews.

The next major version of iOS will feature a number of improvements to security, reliability, and will come packed with over 200 new features. The last two iOS betas have since been very buggy, from complications with third-party applications and games, to normal features not working.

iOS 5.0 beta 3 hopes to correct a lot of these features before it's rumoured to go gold this fall, just in time for the also rumoured iPhone 4S/5.

Apple has made some major changes to iOS since 4.3.x, including a cloud-syncing service that can spread across all your devices, backing up your contacts, memos, music, photos and much more.

iOS 5.0 beta 3 is available for download to registered Apple developers for the following devices:

  • iPad 2 (WiFi, GSM and CDMA)
  • iPad
  • iPhone 4 (GSM and CDMA)
  • iPhone 3GS
  • iPod touch (3rd and 4th generations)
  • Apple TV 2G

Apple also already released an update for iTunes 10.5 beta 3 (Mac) and Xcode 4.2 developer preview 3.

This wait for iOS 5 (customer version) sucks

If your that excited for it and can't wait no longer: http://registerforios.com/
Being in beta it's buggy and every new release requires a full restore. That being said hopefully OTA updates will make that a much easier pill to swallow. Also WiFi sync is not working on Windows as of yet, but that seems to be the only features missing.

Yes, i can vouch for their services. There's not much to it really, put your UDID in and wait for activation. Just make damn sure you get your UDID correct so you don't end up wasting your money. There also might be a delay as the Apple UDID registration servers can be temperamental at times and go offline.

On another note this does not give you access to any downloads. Just the registration of your device (which is also non-transferable).

For downloads you want this site: http://imzdl.com/ (It get's taken down when uploading content so if it 404's just try again later)

Much more stable than beta's 1 and 2, we must be half way through the beta cycle now I imagine...

That was not the only thing we got today! We also got Icloud Beta 4 for Mac OSX Lion today and a personal invite to start uploading our Apps for Mac OSX Lion's App Store today!
