Apple says all of its services are now back online after yesterday's major outage

Yesterday, a significant outage hit many of Apple's services, with intermittent or partial availability for some users, and no access at all for others. According to the company, those issues have now been fully resolved.

A wide range of Apple's products were affected by the interruption in service, including:

  • iOS App Store
  • Apple TV
  • iCloud Backup
  • iCloud Drive
  • iCloud Notes
  • iCloud Storage Upgrades
  • iCloud Web Apps
  • iTunes in the Cloud
  • iWork for iCloud
  • Mac App Store
  • Mail Drop
  • Photos
  • Volume Purchase Program

As Reuters reports, the issues apparently began around 4pm EDT (8pm GMT), and the company's status page was soon updated to reflect the partial availability of the affected services. Some services were restored quicker than others, but as of around midnight EDT (4am GMT) today, the status page indicated that the issues had been fully resolved.

Apple has provided no explanation yet for the cause of the outage.
