Apple sends out invitations for its iPhone 8 announcement on September 12

As was previously rumored, Apple will hold its next big event on September 12, according to press invitations that were sent out today.

The top announcement to come out of the event is due to be a trio of new iPhones, the top end model of which will likely come in at a price of $999. Along with two lower end handsets that will likely be called the iPhone 7s and 7s Plus, the phone is rumored to be nearly bezel-less, and include its Touch ID sensor under the display.

It's also rumored that we'll see the Apple Watch Series 3 at the event. While not much is known about it, there's supposedly going to be an LTE model, and it will obviously run watchOS 4.

Finally, the firm will likely show off a new Apple TV that supports 4K resolution and HDR. Indeed, Apple is the last major OEM that has a flagship set-top box that doesn't support the technologies, so this will be playing catch-up with the rest of the industry.

The event will take place at the new Apple campus in the Steve Jobs Theater on September 12, at 10am Pacific Time.
