Apple's iPod line is getting a refresh today, with the iPod Touch seeing big upgrades

With all the new-fangled iPhones and iPads you might think that Apple no longer cares about its iPod line that was once so popular, but you’d be wrong. The company is expected to unveil new models later on today.

According to Mark Gurman over at 9to5Mac, Apple will be unveiling updated iPod models today, as thanks to sources and Apple’s own carelessness, we learned almost everything there is to know about them ahead of time.

The new Nano and Shuffle iPods won’t get any features, as opposed to the Touch, which is getting some very nice upgrades. However, all the new models will be available in new colors like dark blue, pink and gold.

The new iPod Touch is getting a bunch of upgrades including a brand new camera to match the one on the iPhone 6. The new Touch will also feature a new 64-bit chip that should extend its lifetime and give it an easier time dealing with the newest versions of iOS. The new device will also feature the “M chip” for fitness tracking, and come pre-loaded with iOS 8.1 and Apple Music.

Finally, according to this report, there will be a new 128GB model available for $399, while the 64GB model will be $299. The starting price for devices with only 16GB of memory will still be $199.
