AT&T to launch affordable Lumia 635 for $99 off-contract

Last week, T-Mobile partnered with HSN to offer its customers a unique opportunity to purchase the Lumia 635 before it landed at its retail stores and online. This week, AT&T is announcing its own release dates for the Nokia Lumia 635.

The Nokia Lumia 635 will pack a 4.5” 480 x 854 pixel display, a 1.2GHz Snapdragon 400 quad-core processor, 512MB RAM, 8GB of storage with expansion via microSD, 5MP camera, and 4G LTE. The device will also come loaded with Windows Phone 8.1 that will give users access to Cortana, the Word Flow keyboard, Action Center, and more. Naturally, the device will also come pre-loaded with various Nokia applications like HERE Maps and HERE Drive+.

AT&T will offer two options when purchasing the Lumia 635. AT&T will offer just the Lumia 635 alone for a special launch price of $99 USD; this will be available starting July 25th, 2014. AT&T will also offer a combo pack that will come with a black and orange cover for $139 USD on August 8th.

If AT&T isn't your service provider, the device is also available from T-Mobile, which can also be purchased directly from the Microsoft Store

For those interested in winning the international variant of the Lumia 630, we are currently running a contest. For your chance to win, head over to the contest page for full details. For those on the fence about purchasing the Nokia Lumia 630 or 635, check out our review of the Nokia Lumia 630.

they should increase the RAM to at least 1GB in these entry level devices.

Its Windows Phone platform and after using one device, I can vouch for the fact that, 512MB is good enough at this price point..

What it really needed is the front facing camera !!!

Agreed! I want a ffc! 512 is fine on WP. But come on with the ffc... Push Skype already!

I understand the 530 series but why not even a super basic and cheap camera on the 630 series? Why do you need to go up to the 7xx/8xx to get front facing camera? IMO if Microsoft wants to make even more of a dent they should consider such features. Maybe not on the lowest tier devices but the ones up should have a basic camera for Skype etc...

Cheap. Will definitely grab one if I need (another) backup phone. I have a Lumia 520 as a backup but the small size is irksome when used for extended periods of time.
