BAFTAs dominated by Uncharted 2, but misses Best Game

Arkham Asylum also won the award for gameplay, but Uncharted 2 took the awards for Action, Original Score, Story and Use of Audio, reports 1UP.

How is it that Batman can't even win in its own genre, but still gets best game? Seems like you would at least have to be the best game in your genre to even be considered for the best game.

Why the hell did forza score so low? That game was way better than dirt 2. I never played fifa so I can't comment on that.

09 was a terrible year for games imho.

not to say that some of these games weren't at the very least decent, but out of the ones i played, they just weren't as good as older games in their genres.

ofc, games improved a great deal in the first half or so of the 00's with some really good titles, and the latter years of the 90's. last 5 years or so though they've been taking steps back and focusing on graphics over gameplay, with no big improvements to graphics.

Batman AA deserved it, awesome game

ill disagree. Forza 3 was BY FAR the best game in 2009.

for Forza 3 not to even be mentioned in 'Best Game' category it's hard to take that list seriously imho.

so they picked 5 games and juggled between them each time they give one a 'winner'? what a joke..
(excluding sports)

U2 over DA:O in story? Um... ok.

At least MW2 was snubbed again. Nothing like one of the top grossing games of all time seemingly walking away with no awards. And yes. I am bitter as hell over this game because of how they handled the PC release... same with BC2, AC2, SS:C...

Looks like the British have a little more taste than the Spike TV game awards, which give awards out based on how much of a bribe they receive from publishers. Dragon Age not winning for best story is disappointing. It's a D&D ripoff but the story and characters are really well done with good dialog and acting on an epic scale. Playing DA: Awakening now, it's like DA:O never ended.

I don't understand how Uncharted 2 beat Dragon Ages over the story?! DA has a massive story, with so much choice and depth... Surely that beats Uncharted...

Happy Batman got it, it really was a surprise - a little known developer took a genre known for mediocre games and flipped everyone's expectations on their heads. It deserved the award.

well ham. assassin's creed 2 didn't do so bad, thought i would have thought the original score thing was in the bag for it. beautiful soundtracks.

I was expecting it would won that category. The music was brilliant. Also, the story is great and should have won.
