I have a love-hate relationship with The Sims. Since its inception, I've maintained that it's the most pointless game ever, but I can go for months on end without putting it down--then I'll quit cold turkey for months at a time--at least until the next expansion pack comes out.

Like Jexel above, the real appeal (to me) is building houses and trying to come up with unusual designs. There's no problem-solving involved in this game, and don't care about sims' relationships with one another (especially when it's all so predictable).

I loved the Sims and used to play it hours on end, though most of the time I spent building houses (with the help of cheats of course). It was great fun but I stopped around 5 years ago. People love to simulate a world in which they might live in so I guess Sims is a great way to fulfill anyone's fantasies.

The Sims, Deal or No Deal, Warcraft III, World of Warcraft?

Doesn't seem to be a great of imagination going on in the PC game buyers market at the moment.

Microsoft flight simulator no.1 is hard to believe.

It's more hard to believed if you think that almost all users don't own a joystick (not joypad) and without a joystick it's almost impossible to play.

I actually like The Sims games. I'm surprised to see that the original Sims game still sells very well

You know a game is good when the group Depeche Mode re-records one of their songs in the Simlish language and there's even a video for it

Easy Christmas present for some people. They see a game in the shop that is easily recognizable and buy it :p
The game itself might suck but the brand is strong enough

I'm saddened by the total lack of F.E.A.R. shown here..

Then again I suppose the expansion did come out way back in October...

Kill the Sims! They will take over the world!

I think EA is making more money from the Sims than their sports franchises. I have not seen a top 10 list in years that didn't have a Sims game in it.

WHO KEEPS BUYING THESE GAMES!

I've lost all hope for mankind. :P
