still no installer WITHOUT the OpenCandy BS included as ill just wait and upgrade then as when i do burn stuff it's usually DATA in which case i prefer IMGBurn as about all i use CDBurnerXP for is for that semi-rare occasion i need to burn a regular AUDIO CD.

http://goo.gl/sqWUhi ; currently just says under 'default installer without OpenCandy' as pending.

but thanks for the info anyways

Yeah,
Besides that open candy crap, I also don't like the fact that you can't disable that auto updater. I hate programs like that. Even if you do uncheck the updater thing, it still checks for it!

I'm still using version 4.3.8.2568, as that is that last version that doesn't do that crap! Don't burn as many cd's as I used to.

Never had any luck with ImgBurn, although I know that's a great program also.

for general DATA burning with that... just do MODE > BUILD and the rest should be fairly straight forward. you can just simply drag and drop files you want to burn in that little imgburn square on the screen (if it's not there just make sure VIEW >DROP ZONE is checked) as it always stays on top so you can browse windows explorer to find whatever you want to burn to a CD/DVD. you can also move that little square anywhere you want on screen to (if it's in the way of anything) simply by left clicking on the icon and while still holding down on the left click just simply move the mouse.

I also don't like the fact that you can't disable that auto updater [in CDBurnerXP]. I hate programs like that. Even if you do uncheck the updater thing, it still checks for it!

so you went to... File > Options and then unchecked the 'automatically download and install updates' then clicked Apply and it still checks for updates? ; if it does that's probably a bug in the program.
