Cities: Skylines is coming to the Xbox One on April 21

Following the initial announcement of the Cities: Skylines Xbox One Edition in February and the recent showcase at GDC 2017, Paradox Interactive has now announced the release date of the Xbox version to be April 21. The game will come bundled with the After Dark expansion, and is said to have full controller support, as it leaves behind the keyboard and mouse.

The city building game has proved to be extremely popular on the PC, managing to sell more than 3.5 million copies since its launch two years ago for Windows, Mac, and Linux.

The previously mentioned After Dark expansion that's coming bundled with the game adds an interesting new mechanic: the day-night cycle. This feature affects the speed of traffic inside cities depending on the time of day, along with some flashy new commercial areas that become active during the night, and more. Giving a variety of powerful tools to build and manage even the most complex cities, the game is certainly a must-play for simulation fans.

The Cities: Skylines Xbox One Edition is now up for pre-order on the Microsoft Store for $39.99 and launches worldwide on April 21.
