Cortana shows up on Bing Settings page

Ahead of its reveal later on today, Microsoft’s new digital assistant, Cortana, has started showing up around the web.

As Cortana is powered by Bing, users heading into the search engine’s settings page will find some options related to the digital assistant.

Cortana will pull data from your Windows Phone and Microsoft services to offer up a personalized experience for each user. Calendar appointments, recent searches, location information will all come together in this new service.

However, not everyone will be so eager to share that much information with Microsoft so users have the option of heading into the Bing settings pane and deleting any such information shared with the company.

We’ll be getting a lot more information on Cortana, Windows Phone 8.1 and other Microsoft products as BUILD gets on later today, so stay tuned.

It seems to only appear on the US Bing site, it isn't an option here in the UK. Hopefully this doesn't mean that it will only be launching in the US initially like the original rumours were on about.

I was just looking at this ten minutes ago or so. I suppose in just a few hours we will see the official announcement for all of this stuff. not much in the way of settings for Cortana though just a reset button :D

lol I know the preview was said to be delayed but what if they surprised us all with it lol :D i'm getting my hopes up to get them crushed but we'll see!

I believe the wpcentral info is bunk. First they said rtm was still aways to go,then suddenly it had rtm'd the week before.

It is very nice to see that the code name for that project seems to have become the actual name of the voice engine.

Off Topic: On that History Page in Bing I can always see my history until I delete it. The ought thing is that the top text shows "You've turned off search history. To remember your searches, turn history on."
Can anyone tell me why? Using IE11 that is not linked to that very MS Account

it's a bug. Change your region to US, delete your history, and turn that flag on. Turn back to your location and it won't ever remember your history again (I had this problem too)

Seems like that could solve the "cortana appearing in settings" as well :) had to do the same on my windows phone already. guess English English is not good enough for Microsoft :)
Thanks for the tip.

Cortana is an awesome name.. but otherwise, Shodan (System Shock) or Mother (Alien) are my other choices if we get to choose

Saying "Mother, is it hot outside?" to my phone just seems freaky.

So does asking your phone, whatever you wanna call it.
