Creative Launches External Sound Blaster

Today Creative Labs unveiled a external sound "card" called the Sound Blaster Extigy, The Extigy connects through USB to your computer or notebook. Casual computer gamers on a desktop or notebook can use the Extigy to experience 5.1 multi-channel positional audio with the hundreds of games that incorporate EAX 1.0 and 2.0 technology. The Extigy also provides surround sound to PC notebook users who would not have previously been able to acquire positional audio from their notebook.

The Extigy has 16 ports in total for maximum connectivity, you can now connect your PC or notebook to most digital entertainment devices such as DVD players, CD and MP3 players, MIDI devices, stereo and multi-channel speakers, headphones and more. Featured ports include Optical and MIDI In/Out, SPDIF-In, Line-In and Mic-In. The Extigy ships this month at an estimated street price of US$149.99.
