CronusMAX lets you use your Xbox 360 controller on the Xbox One

If you have been wanting to use your old Xbox 360 controllers on Microsoft's new Xbox One console, a company called CronusMAX has come to the rescue with the latest software update to their console hardware add-on. The new software version enables the Xbox One to use Xbox 360 gamepads when the CronusMAX product is connected to the console.

In a post on the company's forum, CronusMAX says that the software update enables a host of new controller options for the Xbox One. In addition to wired and wireless support for the Xbox 360 gamepad, Sony's DualShock 3 and 4 controllers can also be used. If you have a keyboard or mouse, the CronusMAX update also supports those devices on the Xbox One, along with the Wiimote and Wii U Pro controllers from Nintendo. You can seem how these gamepads work on the Xbox One in the above video.

The CronusMAX add-on itself has a price of $59.99. Unfortunately, it looks like there's is a lack of units for sale at the moment. The company's official website lists three retail outlets that are supposed to sell the device in the U.S. but none of them list the CronusMAX as currently being available.

...why....why.

This is good for people who have expensive fight sticks that only work on X360 and PS3.

Someone thinks of an idea....thinks others may like it and in turn, can make a buck. Person produces and markets idea.

Sarcasm aside...

Less controllers laying around....less batteries you need to have on hand. Less room are some other reasons I can think of. That is if you have both consoles. Otherwise, if you just have the XB1...I dont see why you would need/want this

You have no idea about FPS games. Keyboard/Mouse is much better for them than the gamepads.

There's some odd people out there. Kind of like the start menu types.

He plays those console games that have aim assist that make him think he's good.

That's why I stuck to PC all these years. Consoles couldn't compare before but now they can

Yeah, for that price, I would rather get an actual controller for the console. That being said, this is great for expensive and customed controllers that you might have.

I don't mind the price because it's a barging, The new Madcatz Killer Instinct stick is $200.00 +taxes. I spent almost $100.00 modifying my current TE fight stick which I've been using for the past 5 years for other fighting games on the Xbox 360.

The reason I haven't bought a XB1 is because my currant stick don't work on it and I play mostly fighting games. Microsoft shot themselves in the foot because the majority of people in the fighting game communities use fight stick and don't want to have to buy a new stick for just one game. Can you imagine having to carrying two fights sticks to weekly casuals or tournaments? it's the same reason I don't buy FPS games for consoles since I life PC gaming. mouse and keyboard are better tool for those games like.

Hopefully this tool has not lag.

Like always article is incredibly biased towards MS and Sony/Nintendo are barely mentioned. Hell, it's not even tagged with anything other than MS! John, you are ruining Neowin's credibility and professionalism.

Hence the site name neoWIN (Windows = Microsoft). The site is not any different then any other site that is dedicated to a particular brand or company.

Frankly I'm annoyed at the amount of non-Microsoft news this site posts. I'd actually prefer it to be more MS-centric.

I wouldn't disagree with you on that. However, running a site that is dedicated to a particular company, is not that easy. You have to engaged your viewers and readers constantly, and to do that, you have to keep the page fresh by posting articles that is somewhat relevant or indirect to the company.

Basically, it is all about the numbers and site ratings. If this site rating is low, then there will be no advertisers, thus no money to pay the servers and upkeep.

I used to run the news section of Aximusers.com, and if I waited news from Dell all the time, it will be a stagnant front page. Having a fresh front page all the time, will allow the viewers to come on a regular basis.

But I am sure you already know that.

Go to activewin, watch for tumbleweeds though

WHEEL???
Can I use my 360 Racing Wheel and pedals? I can't view the video here at work, but if this works for the wheel/pedals i won't be forced to pay the ridiculous $500 for the X1's Ferrari wheel or wait 'till next year for a cheaper alternative.
