DAEMON Tools Lite 4.11.2

DAEMON Tools is an advanced application for multiprotection emulation. It is further development of Generic Safedisc emulator and incorporates all its features. This program allows running Backup Copies of SafeDisc (C-Dilla), Securom, Laserlock, CDCOPS, StarForce and Protect CD (and many others) protected games. Also included is a Virtual DVDROM drive (Generic DVD-ROM) enabling you to use your CD images as if they were already burned to CD! DAEMON Tools works under Windows9x/ME/NT/2000/XP with all types of CD/DVDROM drives (IDE/SCSI) and supports nearly any CD protection.

NOTE: The Daemon tools developers have included an optional 'adware' based support system with this release. Be sure to read all screens carefully when installing.

There is still a problem with SPTD 1.53, on my system. I have Windows XP x64 SP2, as well as Windows Vista 32-bit and 64-bit on different HD drives. Windows XP x64 SP2 fails to boot whereas Vista works fine...

I'm not that fond of the load of stuff coming in the installer now but this 4.11.2 looks like a good improvement over 4.11.1 for the fact that x86 and x64 come together saving me disc space on my backups drive where i keep these installers.

I'm keeping 4.10 x86 and x64 on my computer too if I decide to revert back to it ever.

i agree.. i'm not really liking the new versions as much. great software, but all the new adware type stuff coming in the installer.. not cool.

p.s. when are we going to change the default icons in this program? the daemon tools icons are absolutely hideous. good thing the author has allowed a way to change it.. but still..

The adware has always been included with the free version which is now called "lite" since the first inception of the 4.xx versions of daemon tools (v4.00).

However it is optional and takes only one click to uncheck the checkbox preventing it from being installed, I don't really see the complaint here with it.

As for the default icons, I have no problem with it and as you mentioned it can always be changed if there is ever a problem with it.

Anyways thanks for the info to whom originally posted the news regarding the new release.

Theres more now, not only do you have to uncheck the boxes but on the next screen you have to click on the decline button, where the accept button is the default so I wouldn't be suprised if a number of users just clicked accept without knowing. They have also added the deamon tools tool bar and added some gfx on the menu which just isn't needed, atleast not for me.

oh its the end of the world you need to click an extra button that say's decline.

if you don't read what the installer says because you wildly click accept or next all the time then you deserve to have the adware installed on your machine
