Daily Gaming: December 21, 2010

A whole host of demos have been finding their way to Xbox LIVE and more importantly, the PlayStation Network. LittleBigPlanet 2 and Mass Effect 2 are PSN exclusives while EA's Dead Space 2 lands on both Xbox LIVE and the PSN today and is a great download, especially for fans of the first title. We also have details on the first multiplayer map update for Call of Duty: Black Ops and news on a number of iPhone/iPad sales. General News

Call of Duty: Black Ops "First Strike" launching on Xbox LIVE first

No real surprise, but Microsoft has got the first rights on the upcoming add-on for Call of Duty: Black Ops entitled First Strike. The pack will launch on February 1 and features four new multiplayer maps, including Berlin Wall, Discovery, Stadium and Kowloon, and a new Zombie based map called Ascension. The press release seems to still indicate that this pack will eventually find its way to the PlayStation 3 and PC versions, but no date has been set. 

Dead Space 2 Demo infects LIVE and PSN

The long awaited demo for Dead Space 2 has been released on both Xbox LIVE and the PlayStation Network. The demo weighs in at 1.2 GB and plays fantastically well on both the Xbox and PS3. If you were a fan of the original game, you can't miss this.

iPhone/iPad/iPod touch News

Asphalt 6: Adrenaline released

Gameloft have once again come up trumps with Asphalt 6: Adrenaline for the iPhone and iPad. The racing title blends great graphics with some excellent racing in a much bigger title than their previous release. Asphalt 6: Adrenaline now features 42 vehicles including motorcycles and brand new Adrenaline mode. Asphalt 6: Adrenline is available on the App Store now for both iPhone and the iPad priced at £3.99.

N.O.V.A. 2 Released for the iPad

Gameloft has launched N.O.V.A 2 on the iPad today. N.O.V.A. 2 has been long awaited by mobile gaming fans, especially after the success of the first game. The new title brings improved graphics and better multiplayer support, but sadly lacks Game Center support for achievements, just like its iPhone brother.

Big Gameloft Sale

Gameloft launched a large scale sale on the iTunes app store. The sale combines both iPhone and iPad titles dropped to around $.99/59p. A list of the titles in the sale are below:

LittleBigPlanet 2 Demo today

We don't have many details on the content, but Sony favourite - LittleBigPlanet 2 will be released later today on the PlayStation network. The game was loved by reviews and purchasers alike, although the first one didn't sell as many copies as the company hoped it would. Let us know your views on the new one as soon as you get it. Personally, we can't wait!
