Daily Gaming: October 29th 2010

The end of the week is here and so is our daily round up of gaming news. Hopefully many of you are enjoying the delights of the Steam Halloween sale that went live yesterday and some of the new releases such as Star Wars: The Force Unleashed 2 and Fable 3 that have come out over the past week. This weekend we will have a full review of "The Shoot" by Sony for the Playstation move, so keep an eye out for that.

General Gaming News

F.E.A.R. 3 Gets New Date

F.E.A.R. 3 has been given a new release date once again. This time the plan is to get the game out on March 22nd 2011.

Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood Goes Gold

The long awaited (at least by me) Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood has gone gold. The game will be released on November 16, 2010 in America and November 19, 2010 in the UK.

First Enslaved DLC details leak.

The first details about Ninja Theory's DLC for Enslaved have been released. The DLC will have you taking control of the character Pigsy from the main game and you will have to help him build a perfect women...out of scrap metal of course! This DLC will focus on shooting and stealth compared to the main game and will also add 3D support via the TriOviz Inficolor 3D system which powered the 3D version of Batman: Arkham Asylum on standard HDTVs.

Silent Hill 8 News

A developer interview has been posted on the Silent Hill Facebook page giving out some new details on the upcoming horror sequel. The video fleshes out a few small bits of information such different aesthetics compared to the previous titles in the series, this is to try and make the game feel different yet stay true to the themes spirit.

Worms 2: Armageddon Released

Developers Team 17 has announced that their sequel to the big iPhone and iPad seller Worms, Worms 2 Armageddon has been released. The App is now available for £2.99 / $4.99 / €3.99 from the App Store on iPad, iPhone and iPod touch

In terms of content, Worms 2: Armageddon pulls out all the stops. Weapons including the Sentry Gun, Electromagnet, Poison Strike and Earthquake are paired with old classics such as the Baseball Bat, Sheep and the unstoppable Concrete Donkey. There are new game-types, custom game-styles and 30 campaign levels where users can spend hard-earned gold on hats, forts, gravestones and weapons for the improved multiplayer mode.

Bluetooth offline multiplayer for four players is paired with Wi-Fi online for up to two players, meaning the app is now even easier to jump straight into and get down to the serious business of Ninja Ropes and Holy Hand Grenades! For those players who demand competition at every turn, the app features full Plus+ integration, providing in-game Awards, Friends listings and Leader-boards. Users can post high scores and achievements to Twitter and Facebook, and find out which one of their friends is the king of the invertebrate castle!

World of Warcraft: Cataclysm pre-sale launched

Blizzard have announced that pre-sales for World of Warcraft: Cataclysm has begun via Battle.net. If you pre-order the game digitally you will be ready to play the game as soon as the game goes live on December 7. Once you have pre-ordered the game you will need to have logged in at least once before that date to begin the background downloading process.

Lord of the Rings Online - Europe Going Free To Play Next Week

Codemasters Online announced today that The Lord of the Rings Online will be free-to-play across Europe on Tuesday November 2, 2010. introducing an innovative new pricing model, players will be able to download the game and play for free as well as purchase expansions, quest packs, items, and account services à la carte from the new LOTRO Store opening on Tuesday 2nd November 2010.

This major new content update includes Volume III, Book 2: Ride of the Grey Company which extends the game’s story and expands the world of Middle-earth with the new region of Enedwaith.

Castlevania: Lords of Shadow Patch Released

At patch for the excellent Castlevania: Lords of Shadow has been released. The main fix is for the well documented save game corruption bug, but it has also added scrolling text on loading screen to help make everything more readable.
