Deals: Android 4.0 Netbook for £99

We don't often post these, but this one might be just too good to pass up. Yes, an Android 4.0 laptop for £89 + £10 postage and shipping.

The unbranded N10 “Netbook” is powered by a variant of the relatively capable 1.5GHz AllWinner chipset that’s usually found inside most of today’s budget Android 4.0 tablets, so it should work approximately as advertised.

The 10.1″ display runs at 1024×600 resolution, includes 512MB of RAM and 4GB of onboard storage, there are three USB connectors and an SD card slot. It definitely falls into the possible impulse buy category.

The Allwinner A10 is a power hog and doesn't even manage to run anything smoothly, by default it runs at 1008MHz and not 1.5GHz as advertized. Waste of time and money. I personally own an A10 tablet and it's good at nothing even with custom roms.

My netbook has quietly became my main computer to browse the net, reading emails, even connect to my office network. It is low profile, easely portable and running windows 7 Home premium. Low cost solution for everyday use. So for me netbook is not dead !

I have one in my sons' room that they use for watching Netflix and playing some simple online games. I bought it for $40 from some guy because the screen was shattered, but it worked fine otherwise. I hooked it up to an external monitor and all is well.

If this could run Windows 7, I'd get it!

You must have missed the 4 GBs of storage part. Could maybe run it though a flash drive. But whats the point when it only has 512mb of ram. Android 4.0 would be a way better OS for this device.

Slate it all you want, for a simple device for kids to surf the net on, read emails on, etc - this is just dandy!

Actually, if I lived in the UK, for 100 quid I'd probably pick one up for myself, just to play with Android 4.0.

With the optional camera, this would make a reasonably good Skype solution...assuming it's available?

For example, my beloved mother does not own, nor feel the need to own a computer. However, I'm sure she would gladly pay £100 for a system such as the one above if it would allow her to Skype friends and family abroad for free (instead of long distance calls).

Oh yea, those full details:
*Ring ring, ring ring* "Hello. This is the year 2000. We want out computer back."

No, this is the year 2007. We want our Netbook back!

Isnt the netbook dead? Acer, Asus etc. are pulling out of the netbook market.

Who cares if it's "dead"? If you like this form factor, it's fine for you

It's $100. Who cares. Great toy for kids so they don't muck up your stuff. Even just goofing around.
