Dell XPS 18 mega-tablet available for preorder today

Big Tablet? Or lightweight super computer? Seems Dell aren't sure themselves, but in any case it is available for pre order today. The video below, which we posted about last month shows just how large and/or useful this tablet is.

The entry-level Windows 8-based touchscreen model, with a Pentium processor and a 320GB hard drive, will set you back $900, while Core i3 and Core i5 versions cost $1,000 and $1,350 respectively. The 4.85 pound (2.2kg) unit has its own built in kickstand to set the screen upright, the PC can also be used with an optional larger stand for people who want to use it for more old fashioned desktop PC chores.

You can pre-order to your hearts desire and configuration on the US Dell website.

At least it has a 1080p screen. Too many manufacturers these days seem to think that 1366x768 is a great resolution for everything from 11" to 17" notebooks.

17" laptops have 1920×1080 (atleast the ones I am using).

15 to 17" have various display but mostly its 1366×768, but its ranging from 1280×800 to 1920×1200 so yeah.

Been waiting for a tablet of this size to arrive as to me its much more usable at home for viewing videos / streaming media and other tasks.

Might have to wait until the price drops a bit or other manufacturers provide their offerings
