DICE working on more Battlefield “in the background”

Speaking in an interview with GamerZines, Electronic Art’s DICE studio has confirmed that it's "doing a lot of things in the background" that are aimed "towards creating the next big Battlefield product".

Patrick Bach, Battlefield: Bad Company 2 Executive Producer talked about the developer’s current projects saying, "In the background we're doing a lot of things that I can't talk about that are aiming towards creating the next big Battlefield product."

The next title in the Battlefield series is speculated to be Battlefield 3, which was revealed to be in development by John Pleasants, Electronic Arts Chief Operating Officer, in June of last year.

"I've had the luxury of looking at Battlefield 3 over at DICE over in Sweden," said Pleasants. "I was highly impressed by the way the people were working on that product. That's not for this fiscal year ending March 31, 2010, but that is a product that is looking very good."

Electronic Arts has also confirmed the development of a sequel to Mirror’s Edge, although additional information has yet to be released.

Battlefield: Bad Company 2 is set to hit store shelves on March 2 in North America and March 5 in Europe for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC.

hope the new battlefield takes the hype our of mwf2....a really over rated game....pc beta in 2 days.woohoo!!

People keep saying mw2 is over rated, because it's that's good. Most online fps becomes a ghost town after a couple months, but cod4 was still rocking 1 million+ players on xbox live before mw2 hits. Even after two years since release. It'd gonna take some new innovation to redefine online fps to overshadow mw2, which I don't think any games coming out will able to do. BFBC was an old-school shooter with building damage, but that was all it was. If the new one's control scheme remains the same, it's gonna drop like a rock and people migrate back to mw2 because it's perfect.

I hope your post is sarcasm because anyone who thinks MW2 is 'perfect' on PC really doesn't have a damn clue what they are talking about.

how about stop screwing around with these stupid side games and get Battlefield 3 out!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Err ... no. How about they keep making cool games as WELL as BF3. I WANT Battlefield Bad Company 2 ... I also want Battlefield Modern Combat. Modern combat games are SO much more fun than the over done World War 2 era games. So these two are a welcome couple of games to me! :)

What the hell are you talking about? BF3 haven't been released to any console. What you're talking about is BF1943 which has NOTHING to do with BF3. It was just a small game with only one map to test out the new Frostbite engine. Nothing else. Get your facts straight.
