I don't understand the point of this. DirectX is fully integrated into Windows now, if you uninstall it you are just breaking your OS. There is absolutely no reason to ever use this program, let alone pay for it.

Of course I do! There's nothing wrong or suspicious with the program. DHU works fine, as for the 'company comes from China' don't forget that your phone, TV set, printer, components from your washing machine and even parts form your car are Made in China.

"American components, Russian components, all made in **TAIWAN!**"--Cosmonaut Andropov from "Armageddon."

Never seen a need to remove or downgrade DirectX... Neither in Windows 7, nor in Windows 8.1.

A few things it states on the website look suspicious...
Over 3 Million downloads.
Microsoft Certified Partner.
Softpedia pick (the tool isn't even on softpedia, nor is it a pick)
Download.com,Tucows,Brothersoft Pick (yeah sure)
Name sounds strange "Happy"
GUI (looks like one of those Antivirus scams.
That "company" comes from china and uses Yahoo for "company"-email and support.

Windows 8 no longer supports older DirectX (7 or 8, and earlier) games, from my understanding. However this utility won't downgrade to an unsupported version.

And yes, I wouldn't be surprised if a Trojan is installed during installation.

You're right. The search didn't find it in my case.
Softpedia download count is easily fakeable... try clicking multiple times on download (you don't have to download the file actually... just click on download and back a few times and watch the count go up)

Why! on earth would you want to uninstall DirectX... As a lot of programs require it, including some web browsers.

Unless you have to downgrade, or have to remove to re install. That being said, DirectX been reliable with me on working on computer I've never had to remove DX, then re-add. Repairing IE, on the other hand I've had to repair in the past.
