D'oh! Microsoft Unveils 'Simpsons'-Themed Xbox

Thanks to a deal with Fox movie studios, makers of this summer's "The Simpsons" movie, Microsoft has announced 100 limited edition "Simpsons" Xboxes available via a series of special events and promotions this summer. The Homer-inspired console is actually the 20GB Xbox 360 Pro (as opposed to the Elite) wrapped in a bright yellow colour. "The Simpsons" movie is set for release July 27.

In addition, Microsoft announced four new Xbox games inspired by movies scheduled for release this summer: "Shrek The Third," "Pirates Of The Caribbean: At World's End," "Ratatouille," and "Harry Potter And The Order Of The Phoenix." Prices range from $50 to $60. The Shrek game is available next week, Pirates a week later, Harry Potter June 25, and Ratatouille June 26. Most of the games are released within a few days of the movies.

Microsoft stop. Just stop. No more elite SKUs and limited editions and all this BS. Just get the 65nm units out there and stop the horrendous Xbox 360 failure rate.

The 360 hardware is enough of a joke without you putting funny cartoon characters on it ok.

they get paid lots of money to paint these boxes and make limited editions... money they can use to further 360 R&D, so this is a good thing

Yes, after all it's not like they don't already have billions lying around!

If people buy them why should they stop? Besides it isn't like they are forcing you to buy one.

dude, all hes saying is that before they branch out into these limited editions, maybe they should fix problems that are already prevelent? Noone is saying dont make money

They should have put a donut around the power button and no, it's not ugly. If it was any other color besides yellow it just wouldn't look right.
